Data for Good

In recent years, we have experienced an explosion of data. Previously, large data sets were only available from government agencies and academic institutions.

Today, we have access to an enormous range of data from both the public and private sectors. We can know many things about people, like how many lattes they drink each month, how long they sit in traffic, and how many miles they run each week.

Many newly accessible data categories are used to drive consumerism.
What if we think more creatively about using big data to solve the world’s stickiest problems?

MaCSS empowers students to find data-driven opportunities to improve the quality of life in both the public and private sectors.
